We will have a short, but very special memorial service in the beautiful restored barn at Stoltzfus Homestead and Gardens which is adjacent to the Garden of Hope property. Following a special services dedicated to the precious babies that have been lost, we will move to the grounds of the Garden of Hope which is a very short walk away. Golf cart shuttle service will be available for our guests who have difficulty walking. At the Garden of Hope, we will have the ceremonial reading of the babies names as yellow balloons of remembrance are released in the memory.
Guests may choose to park at the Stoltzfus Homestead and Gardens at 3716 East Newport Road, Gordonville PA 17529 or they may park at the Garden of Hope parking lot at 30 Springhouse Lane, Intercourse, PA 17534. Both parking lots are extremely close to the garden and location for the memorial service.
If you would like to order a plaque in memory of a special baby that was lost to miscarriage, stillbirth or early infant death, please click on our Memorial Plaques tab at the top of our home page.
We do hope you will join us for this special memorial service.
Every year the Garden of Hope holds a very special memorial service to celebrate and remember the lives of the tiny babies that families have lost. The short service allows us to pause and reflect as we read the names of babies engraved on the memorial plaques, read scripture and join in prayer. Each family will also be given a balloon in memory of the baby and will have the opportunity to write a message or their baby's name on the balloon. At the conclusion of the service, the balloons are then released filling the sky with symbols of these precious lives that we miss so dearly.
The Garden of Hope Memorial Service is always held on the second Sunday in June at 4:00pm at the garden. In case of inclement weather, please visit our facebook page, Lancaster Garden of Hope, for delay or cancelation information.
